The Weekly Wind Down 37
The song that's stuck in my head, my beauty summer essential , and learning to live in the present.
Hiya Huns,
Hello, gorgeous people. How are you? I hope you had a lovely past week.
I’m not going to lie, writing this on Sunday evening, I feel like mine has been a whirlwind, even though I haven’t really done a great deal. I find it quite discombobulating when that happens. Time goes so fast, but you feel like you haven’t done a lot to warrant it. But anyway, let’s get on with the show…
Sincerely, This Week:
Monday was a bank holiday, which I where I think threw me off, and that was covered in last week’s newsletter.
Then it was back to work writing.
The MET Gala took place at the start of the week, and it used to be my most favourite event for fashion. However, something felt different this year. Not only did the theme, which was “Fashion is art”, get lost on a lot of people’s outfits, but the overall vibe shifted. But anyway, my favourite looks, which you can see fully on my Instagram, but my highlights were Emma Chamberlain wearing Mugler, Kylie Jenner wearing Schiaparelli, Gwendoline Christine wearing Giles Deacon, and Sabrina Carpenter wearing Dior.
Wednesday, I met with a PR and got to take part in an exciting fragrance-smelling experience at Creed’s shop on Regent Street. I got to learn all about the history of the brand, which is fascinating. Did you know that the original owner of the brand started in tailoring before venturing into the world of perfumery? Creed has become a much-loved brand, and after smelling their collection of scents, it’s no surprise as to why.
After work finished for the day, it was back to being behind the sewing machines for Gabriel and my Vegas outfits. Our friend is getting married out there, so we’re dressing up for a welcome evening of drinks, food and a show. I honestly can’t wait for you all to see them. I’m really proud, and also, it’s got me thinking about creating a little collection or selling some pieces. But let’s not get carried away, haha. We’ll see what the future holds
On Saturday, we went to supported our brilliant friend who walked 26 miles in aid of Alzheimer’s Society, and she’s raised over £650 so far. We surprised her along the route to give her some motivation, then we went and waited to welcome her across the finish line with open arms and cheers. Then it was off for some delicious food and drinks at Coppa Club in Putney.
Sunday was spent with my niece and nephew as we celebrated my nephew’s fourth birthday. Please can someone explain why they group up sooooo fast? I wish they’d stay small and cute forever.
What You’ve Missed:
The Moodboard:
Watching: Love on the Spectrum on Netflix - A friend has been telling me to watch this show for ages, and I finally caved, and I’m so glad I did. It is the most heart-warming dating show I’ve ever watched. We’re not talking Love Island or anything like that. This American-produced show follows the love lives of individuals who are on the autism spectrum and are trying to find love. We see them go on dates and navigate the world of dating. It’s cute, wholesome, and a cosy watch.
Listening to: Madonna & Sabrina Carpenter - Bring Your Love - Pals, I think the anthem of Summer might have just landed. They teased their song at Coachella, but now we finally have the single from the two titans, and it’s an absolute banger. It’s the first to be released from Madonna’s upcoming album, and it’s a pop sensation. It feels like a throwback track from 2012, but so modern with the beats. I constantly have it on repeat.
Eating: Chicken Schnitzel Salad - So, last week I told you how I’ve been enjoying my girlie lunches of salad, chips and a rosé. Well, I’ve found my new favourite salad, and it’s an elevated take on a classic ceaser by using chicken schnitzel instead of regular grilled chicken. It’s not groundbreaking, no. But it gives the salad much more taste and texture.
The Edit:
Guys, I think I have just discovered my scent for the summer and a favourite new body moisturiser.
If you know of Sol de Janeiro, you’ll know they create the most amazing fragrant products that are so iconic, you know exactly what they are as soon as you smell them on someone.
One of their most recent scents, the Beija Flor Elasti-Cream, is one not to miss out on. If you like soft notes of roses, jasmine and exotic fruity flavours, then this is the one for you. It’s honestly surprised me how great it smells.
But aside from that, it is formulated with special ingredients to boost firmer-looking skin, cacay oil, which is an alternative to retinol to plump texture and plant squalane to flood the skin with hydration, perfect for any summer holidays.

Sincerely, Me:
Following on from last week’s Sincerely, Me section, where I discussed not feeling guilty about setting boundaries, I feel like I’m going through a transformational phase at the moment.
All in a positive way, which is really refreshing.
I’ve not been getting hung up on situations that I would usually be fixated on for days or weeks.
I’ve been doing what I actually want to do.
I’ve been surrounding myself with people whom I want to spend my time with.
I’m speaking to myself a lot nicer. Minimising how many times I refer to myself in a negative way (which is tough, but I’ve been clocking myself as I do it).
I’ve also been catching myself on the edge of spiralling and doing something to divert from this happening, whether that be cleaning, reading, partaking in some self-care, basically anything to distract myself, haha.
With our holiday coming up, I’ve been making a vow to just enjoy myself and have fun. Not to be worried about what others might think or say. To live in the moment and just enjoy the present.
I think by being so busy these past few weeks, it’s allowed me to not concern myself about the future, or what’s coming next, and it’s felt so nice to just be.
It’s so easy with the way the world currently is to get caught up in it all. But we have to live each day and experience every little thing we’ve done, or are doing.
Quote for the week: “Whatever the present moment contains, accept it as if you had chosen it. Always work with it, not against it.” - Eckhart Tolle
Sincerely, Scott xx
