The Weekly Wind Down #45
Grease the immersive movie musical, the scent of summer and getting my confidence back.
Hiya Huns,
How are we all? Still complaining about the weather? Of course, we are. I’m kind of at peace with it now; I just can’t stand the hot nights and lack of sleep, haha.
I hope you’ve all had fun weeks. Mine has been chilled working, going back to school, enjoying a lovely massage and a wholesome weekend with family. So, let’s not waste time; let’s jump in.
Sincerely, This Week:
Let’s jump straight to Wednesday when I was invited by benefit cosmetics to Grease The Immersive Movie Musical. For the fun event I took along my beautiful bestie Poppy, and we honestly had the best, care-free time. We got transported back to Rydell High School with the fairground outside which consisted of the iconic rides of the ferris wheel, swings and of course, the fun house which later becomes the stage for You’re The One That I Want at the end of the show.
Inside, school is in session as you venture into the hall where the main stage for the show is situated. We were hosted in Frosty Diner which is where the excellent Beauty School Dropout song is set, you can also get tickets to sit in the Drive In which see’s the front of loads of cars lined up creating the illusion of a packed out event. You can also book general standing where you’re front and centre in the musical as the performers do their thing around you. You even have the option to go up on stage between songs.
It’s a brilliant show to see if you’re looking for something to do in the city during summer. It runs until 13th September, so make sure you book soon.
Thursday Gabriel and I took a trip to the cinema to see the epic new Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Review coming later in the newsletter.
On Friday, I was invited to Ceylon Aesthetics & Beauty in South Kensington to expeirence their Lymphatic Draingage massage, and oh my god you guys, it was heavenly. For those who don’t know what this is, it’s a more gently massage that aimes to reduce swelling and bloating by promoting trapped lymph fluid in the body. I asked for firmer pressure as your boy has been acheing a lot lately, and the massouse was brilliant. The knots were unknotted, the muscles were eased, and I felt so zen.
After this I went and met a friend for lunch in centra. We decided to go to our usual spot of Flat Iron in Covent Garden. There really is something about being around those who lift you up, as we like to call them radiatiors. We’re not fond of the drainers.
On the weekend I has my sister over a wine and picky tea which included all the yummy bits of camambert, chorizo, proscuitto, fresh bread, and more. Oh, and our signature whipped feta dip that we have perfectly refined.
Sunday we had my parents over for dinner where I cooked up a banging roast if I do say so myself.
Hollywood Bucket List Day Vlog:
In this vlog, we explore some of Los Angeles’ most iconic sights, including Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive, Hollywood Boulevard and the incredible Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood.
What You’ve Missed:
The Moodboard:
Watching: Spider-Man: Brand New Day - ooft guys. This movie got me. I didn’t know what to expect following No Way Home, but it’s pure brilliance and moves the story on smoothly. I won’t ruin the storyline as people haven't seen it yet. But Tom Holland and Zendaya are absolutely excellent in it. The message and themes are more mature, making it a developed storyline that many can relate to or find something in. Potentially my new favourite Spider-Man.
Listening to: Petal by Ariana Grande - Ariana’s new album was released on Friday, and I’ve been non-stop listening to it since. It’s a more chilled album as opposed to big belters, but that doesn’t take away from the songs. It’s one of those albums I can imagine becoming a movie soundtrack. The emotions are up and down, but relatable to situations. My top three songs: kiss me, warning signs and bad thing (bunny hop), oh, and maybe Nowhere, Nobody (I know that’s four, but it’s a great album, ok).
The Edit:
I’m a hoarder of fragrances. I’m obsessed with them. I love the scents, but I love the science behind them. The way they’re crafted, with specific notes that create the brilliant aromas many people love. I mostly love the memories connected to fragrances, and how they can transport us somewhere.
Well, I’ve recently discovered one that smells like holidays. Think toes in the sand, a cocktail in hand, the sun beating down, the fresh salty sea air, and a slathering of suncream. This is Le Monde Gourmand Le Beach.
Pals, don’t miss out on this. It’s literally summer in a bottle. It has notes of
It’s also the perfect size to pop in your bag for top-ups or a dopamine boost during the day.

Sincerely, Me:
My confidence has dwindled lately.
I don’t know whether it’s because Mercury has been retrograde, or what.
I have been doing a lot of reflection lately on what I want to do for work, where I want to go next, social media growth, and the little voice in my head has been winning a lot at making me doubt myself.
I’m getting better at recognising this when it happens, and telling the inner saboteur to take a seat. Maybe I should come up with a name for them…
Anyways, it’s very easy to compare when we live in a world of constant comparison, when everything is documented for the world to see.
But I’ve realised lately that it’s really important to change the way you look at this.
Rather than comparing, take it as inspiration.
You might not be doing what or where that person is right now, but who is to say you can’t do the same? They started exactly where you are, and they did it. So, you can too.
Don’t let the fear prevent you from venturing forward in your journey.
Whether it’s sending an email. Posting a video. Introducing yourself to someone.
Cut throw the noise, and focus on yourself, pals.
Believe in yourself.
You’ve got this. Just have a little more patience, and trust in the timing of things.
